hey ive been wondering - usually people recommend min 1200 kcal a day, is it NET 1200 kcal or eating 1200 kcal (as in can i eat 1200 kcal and burn off like 200)

It is eating 1200 kcal, but I would rather recommend around 1400 just to make sure that you get enough. This is also something you just should do for a while and not too long. Your body burn around 1700-2200 kcal/day from just a sedentary living. :)
